Our client is one of leading the leading chemical suppliers of United State of America. It has grown into a customer-focused global supplier of high quality of chemicals, laboratory supplies and equipment.

The Objective

The client was having different layers of challenges and complications for Oracle EBS.

Product Hierarchy

The client manufactures items in multiple sizes with similar specification. This process requires the product hierarchy to be implemented so that the same grade chemicals are in one item tree. The client was having more than 500K items which was converted into product hierarchy.

Regulatory Compliances Information

There was need to implement different regulatory compliance documents with their product catalog and these documents had to be available to users / customer on inquiry of Product Catalog. SamaraTech implemented a process to enable the ERP solution to provide regulatory document information on Product Catalog inquiry at any time.

Web-Store Setup

In standard practice, most of the organizations use different interface for Corporate Web Site and Web Stores. The client wanted to use a single interface for both. This functionality is not available in Oracle EBS as standard process. The SamaraTech team enabled the functionality by doing the customizations in web store process.

Customer Addresses

While implementing Vertex Tax Solution and FedEx Address validation, it was identified that the address of the client was not as per the standards used by Vertex. The SamaraTech team synchronized the Vertex / FedEx data of customer address to enable the full functionality of these modules.

Fax Orders and EDI

Spectrum Chemicals was getting number of orders with Fax Copy from their bulk customers which converted into X12 format by their Telecommunication Service Provider. SamaraTech provided the functionality to interface Fax Orders into Oracle Order Management to process the Sales Orders

The Solution

It was comprehensive ERP solution implementation of Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Online Payments, Tax Solutions, Manufacturing and Statutory Compliances. As per the customer’s profile, the nature of their business, of critical and regulated chemicals, required multiple statutory compliances to be fulfilled. During the purchase / sale of the item, it was mandatory to implement those compliances in inventory transactions and Order Management. This ERP solution was further extended to setup Online Web Store to publish the client’s Product Catalog for Chemicals, Laboratory & Supplies and Equipment items to enable the B2B (Business-To Business) feature for the customer. SamaraTech setup online credit card transaction process to enable remittance / authorization from their customer at the time of Order Booking.
